Perhaps somewhat cliché, but so what. This is the season for reflection and giving thanks. I am truly thankful and enjoy expressing thankfulness. I am thankful in business and in life for many things. Lucinda and I have six surviving children, all of which we are very proud of. They are all hard working adults who never shy away from a challenge. Although they would have certainly all turned out this way under their own power, I know they are influenced by their baby brother whom we lost in 2003. Gabriel was born with many challenges. He survived a kidney transplant and lived a life filled with constant trips to Texas Children’s Hospital. He lost his hearing as an infant due to strong antibiotics and saw the world through very strong glasses. He had many more challenges that I will not go into details on, but through it all he was incredibly happy. Gabriel brought great joy and influence into every life he touched. He passed away at age 10, but he is the one person who I desire most strongly to emulate. To have such happiness in the face of so many problems is what I consider true courage. I am eternally grateful for every moment of those 10 years Gabriel was with us. He was a true beacon of light and a living example of true love.
I am thankful I see Gabriel in all our other children to this day. As I said, they are all hard working adults, but they are each and every one so much greater than that. Our four sons and two daughters all seem to have a deeper understanding of the sanctity of life itself. They all have an openness to allow themselves to love. I don’t believe any of them have any barriers in the area of loving their fellow inhabitants of this planet without judgement or envy. They are all my best friends, each with very different personalities, but each being someone I would want to know if I didn’t already.
Of course I am unbelievably thankful for my soulmate Lucinda. Lucinda and I share the same thoughts, hopes, and dreams. We are two polar opposites who epitomize the scientific truth that opposites attract. We grew up in very different circumstances, we speak differently, and where one of us has little patience the other seems unaffected. I’m a writer, she’s a talker. We balance each other out to unbelievable perfection. Almost daily, she will speak my very thoughts before I get the opportunity to speak them myself and she says I do the same to her. We call each other Sugies, Babers and Lifelove, and we share the bond that those nicknames embody. I cannot imagine life without her. Perhaps the most incredible thing about our relationship is that we never tire of each other’s company. We travel, exercise, grocery shop, and work together. Our network marketing business is successful because of this. We work as a team. I write and she talks, I’m the science guy and she’s the emotions gal. We each have skills the other does not. We are a working synergy of capabilities with a common goal, and a common desire to help others succeed to our level and to surpass us. We are thankful that there are people just like you who respond to our business by joining our team. Our team of doTERRA wellness advocates continues to grow because of those like-minded people who seek natural solutions to their own healthcare.
Last but not least, we are forever grateful to the founders of doTERRA Essential Oils who put it all on the line to form a company that invites everyone to share in their fortune.

There is nothing wrong with being thankful for the source of one’s income. doTERRA is a very different means of making a living than I would have ever thought that I would be involved in. We had tried network marketing before with very little success even though we had been promised the moon. We were showed those photos of yachts and mansions and found ourselves sold on that, but not the products. This is key to success in network marketing: if you’re not passionate about the products, you will never succeed with them. To also find a company that lives and governs itself according to this mission statement is the rarest of opportunities. The owners of doTERRA truly do operate according to their mission statement but they left out the love. Having met the owners and heard them speak on numerous occasions I can honestly state that they actually love the people who build their home based network marketing businesses with doTERRA. The love and appreciation they feel is tangible whether they say it out loud or not. These are the type of people I am comfortable being involved with. They have laid out the plan that I only need to follow to eventually actually achieve the type of success that other network marketing companies hollowly promise.
We know for a fact that our doTERRA business is one that we will be proud to leave to our children and for that, we are eternally thankful.
